ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD)
At Cablescom we are committed to a model of sustainability and growth through a circular economy.
To achieve this, factual knowledge on the environmental impact of our organisation, its processes and products, is essential. In line with our strategic objectives, we have worked on the implementation of the necessary tools to make information available to our customers on the environmental performance of our products.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have been made and verified, including two families of fibre optic cable for aerial and duct use. These have been registered on the international EPD system and made available to the public.
An Environmental Product Declaration is an objective document verified by a third party which, in compliance with the international standard ISO14025, details the environmental impact of a product throughout its life.
Prior to this, a Life Cycle Assessment of the product has to be carried out, based on a set of standardised rules called Product Category Rules (PCR).
In summary, the preparation and publication of these EPDs binds us to calibrating the environmental impact of our products while allowing us to compare this impact to other similar products manufactured by our competitors.
